Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved TV shows such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in LA on Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, per media reports.

"He saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his family said in a announcement.

They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several hit series, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.

The actor is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
