Iran Reports Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.

Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a significant and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Additional Developments

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.

It said debris fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
